CapMan publishes Sustainability-Linked Finance Framework

CapMan has established a Sustainability-Linked Finance Framework. Under the Framework, CapMan can issue securities, including but not limited to bonds, with a sustainability-linkage. By setting up the Framework, CapMan strives to contribute to solving the major issues related to climate change and to establish a structure for integrating sustainability features in its funding.

Through its Sustainability Performance Targets, CapMan is committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Net-Zero Standard to help its portfolio companies, assets and ultimately stakeholders to transition towards a carbon-neutral society. CapMan also seeks to integrate sustainability objectives into the variable remuneration of its Management Group in order to align the incentives of decision makers with sustainability targets and promote day-to-day actions that prioritise sustainability issues.

“Setting up a framework that links financing to key sustainability performance indicators enables us to connect our debt financing with the establishment of a pathway for greenhouse gas emissions reduction validated by the SBTi as well as with the integration of sustainability objectives with executive remuneration. This Sustainability-Linked Finance Framework is the first of its kind for a Finnish company,” comments Atte Rissanen, CFO of CapMan.

The Framework has been established in accordance with the Sustainability-Linked Bond Principles (SLBP) which is a voluntary framework that provides guidelines for how forward-looking sustainability goals can be integrated into bonds. ICMA – International Capital Markets Association is behind the guidelines which were launched in 2020. An external assessment by ISS ESG, a provider of second party opinions, confirms that the Framework is aligned with the SLBP.

OP Corporate Bank plc has acted as the Sole Sustainability-Linked Finance Framework adviser.
