Nominations in CapMan Group

Markku Hietala (LL.M.) has been appointed as Senior Partner and Johan Bennarsten (M.Sc. (Eng.), MD), Björn Nordenvall (PhD, MD) and Tommy Valther Hansen (M.Sc. (Econ.)) as Partners as of 14 February 2007.

Markku Hietala, LL.M., 50, appointed as Senior Partner, is the Head of CapMan Real Estate and Managing Director of CapMan’s subsidiary Realprojekti Oy in Helsinki. Mr Hietala joined CapMan through the Realprojekti acquisition in 2005. He has had a key role in investments made by CapMan Real Estate I fund and in the sale of the fund’s portfolio consisting of 22 commercial properties at the end of 2006, among others. Mr Hietala has more than twenty years experience in the real estate industry.


Johan Bennarsten
, M.Sc. (Eng.), MD, 35, appointed as Partner, has been working in CapMan’s Life Science team in Stockholm as Investment Director and as Deputy Head of the team. Dr Bennarsten joined CapMan through the Swedestart acquisition in 2002 and since then he has contributed actively in CapMan’s life science investments such as Neoventa, Silex Microsystems and Aerocrine, among others. Dr Bennarsten has extensive experience in medicine and in the medtech industry as a Paediatrician and as Medical Specialist, among others.


Björn Nordenvall
, PhD, assistant professor, MD, 55, appointed as Partner, has been working in CapMan’s Life Science team in Stockholm as Investment Director since 2002, and since then he has had an active role in QuickCool, Inion and Jolife investments, among others. Prior to joining CapMan Dr Nordenvall spent several years as CEO at Oxigene Inc., a cancer research company listed on the Nasdaq, as CEO at Sophiahemmet AB, a private hospital with private equity funding and as CEO of Carnegie Medicine AB.


Tommy Valther Hansen
, M.Sc. (Econ.), 41, appointed as Partner, joined CapMan Technology in 2001 as Investment Manger in Copenhagen. Mr Hansen was nominated as Investment Director in 2003. He has a long track record in managing and developing venture-financed technology companies including private placements and investor relations to international investors. He has been responsible for the investments in ECO-DAN and ScanJour. Further, Mr Hansen has international experience in mergers and acquisitions through his previous positions as financial manager at Nilfisk Advance and as auditor and Manager at Arthur Andersen.
