CapMan invests in Mirasys

The funds managed by CapMan have announced an investment in Finnish Mirasys Ltd., which specialises in video recording and management software for the security industry. The investment will finance Mirasys’ growth and internationalisation.

Mirasys develops and markets innovative solutions for recording, analysing, storing and managing video and other surveillance-related data for the security industry. The company has 35 employees in Finland and Spain. Approximately half of Mirasys’ net sales accrued from outside of Finland in 2006, with the other Nordic countries and Spain as the most important international markets. The Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, the ASEM summit in Helsinki and several New York State school districts are among Mirasys’ recent end-user customers.

”Mirasys has proven the competitiveness of its product concept and the viability of its business model with local Finnish partners in addition to having major partnerships in other geographic markets. The digitalisation of the video surveillance systems and growing interest towards security in general create good growth prospects for the sector. Together with the management, we will focus on Mirasys’ growth, internationalisation and strengthening of strategic position in future,” states Johanna Lindroos, Investment Director at CapMan.

”Mirasys has excellent prerequisites for expansion in international markets. The new IP (Internet Protocol) -based platform offers clear benefits for our customers. Through the investment we are able to utilise CapMan’s comprehensive network internationally and in CapMan’s Nordic home market in particular; further, CapMan brings the finance required for the company’s growth and internationalisation,” says Pasi Lehmus, CEO of Mirasys.

CapMan funds will hold at maximum 42% of the fully diluted shares in Mirasys after the execution of the transaction. The transaction is expected to be closed in March.

CapMan Technology invests in Nordic expansion and later stage technology companies and CapMan’s Technology team, having a long track record in accordance with this investment focus, is one of the most experienced in the Nordic countries. The portfolio companies of CapMan Technology typically deliver industrial (OEM) and B-to-B infrastructure, applications or services.
