Changes in CapMan Plc’s organisation

Senior Partner Petri Saavalainen has been appointed as a member of the Management Group of CapMan Plc as of 1 August 2006. Saavalainen will be responsible for Group Business Development. At the same time, reporting of the real estate business will transfer under CFO Olli Liitola and Vesa Vanha-Honko will resign his post as a member of the Management Group. In CapMan Buyout, Markus Sjöholm has been appointed as Senior Partner as of 15 May 2006.

Petri Saavalainen, M.Sc. (Eng.), 41, joined CapMan in 1995 and he was appointed as Senior Partner in 2001. Saavalainen has had a significant role in CapMan funds’ investment in Tieturi Oy, among others. He has also been responsible as CapMan’s representative for investment activities by Alliance ScanEast Fund, which has investment focus on Central and Eastern Europe and is managed by CapMan’s associated company Eastman Advisors.  

Markus Sjöholm, M.Sc. (Econ.), LL.M., 34, joined CapMan in 1996 and he was appointed as Partner in 2001. In recent years Sjöholm has played a central role in CapMan funds’ exits from EuroProcessing International ASA, Finndomo Oy and Vogue Group Oy as well as in investment in InfoCare Holding AS, among others.

Senior Partner Vesa Vanha-Honko will transfer from operational duties in CapMan as of 1 September 2006. Vanha-Honko will still continue as a Board member in CapMan Real Estate Oy, Access Capital Partners (Guernsey) Ltd, Access Capital Partners S.A (Supervisory Board) and Finlayson & Co Oy. The Board of Directors of CapMan Real Estate Oy resolves on investment decisions of CapMan’s private equity real estate fund and the Board of Directors of CapMan’s associated company Access Capital Partners (Guernsey) Ltd resolves on fund investment decisions of Access Capital Fund’s funds. Finlayson & Co Oy is a portfolio company of CapMan Buyout.

As of 1 August 2006, the composition of the Management Group of CapMan Plc is as follows: Heikki Westerlund (CEO), Olli Liitola (CFO and Deputy CEO), Jerome Bouix (Fundraising, IR & Communications), Markku Hietala (CapMan Real Estate), Jan Lundahl (CapMan Life Science), Petri Niemi (CapMan Technology), Tuomo Raasio (CapMan Buyout) and Petri Saavalainen (Business Development).

The Management Group of CapMan Plc is responsible for the preparation and coordination of matters relating to CapMan Group’s business. The Management Group is divided into two subgroups, one of which comprises the CEO and heads of investment teams and the other the CEO and heads of general Group functions. Markku Hietala reports to Olli Liitola and the other members of the Management Group report directly to CEO Heikki Westerlund.
