CapMan acquires Locus AS, the leading Norwegian Fleet Management System provider
The funds managed/advised by CapMan acquire Locus AS from Locus Holding ASA. Locus develops and provides systems for efficient management of fleets of vehicles and/or mobile users.
Locus is a developer and provider of integration, software and systems for efficient management of fleets of vehicles and/or mobile users. It is specialized in Fleet Management Systems (FMS) and Command and Control Information Systems (C2IS). To meet different customer needs Locus supplies tailored end-to-end solutions, offered through a few software components with a number of add-on modules. Locus operates in two key market segments, which are public safety and transport.
“Locus has a dominant market position in its both key market segments in Norway. In addition, we are now targeting the rest of the Nordic and European markets. CapMan’s acquisition will further strengthen our financial base and therefore give us good abilities to carry out our expansion strategy,” says Arne Harry Pettersen, CEO of Locus AS. “The Nordic region is ideally suited to FMS solutions due to the complex geography and fleet utilization challenges,” Arne Harry Pettersen continues.
“CapMan is impressed by the company’s performance and market position. Locus has an interesting product portfolio in fleet management systems within public safety and transport. Further more, Locus has a strong customer base. We believe Locus is well positioned for further growth both in Norway and the other Nordic countries and we look forward to contribute to the development of the company on a Nordic basis,” says CapMan’s Investment Director Erik Berger.
Locus is CapMan’s first Norwegian technology investment after company’s expansion to Norway in spring 2004.
